From a home brewer’s perspective, here’s our honest take on their Chocnut Latte, Tibuok Cashew Cheesecake, and Matcha Latte.
For the past month, we’ve been café hopping and exploring different coffee shops around the area. While scrolling through social media, Middle Black Sheep Roasters kept showing up on our feed, and after seeing so many people recommend it, we decided it was finally time to check it out.
Before we dive into the review, here’s a little background on where we’re coming from. Coffee has become a hobby for us over the years. We enjoy brewing at home using an AeroPress, Hario V60, Bialetti Moka Pot, and a Breville Barista Express. We’ve also spent countless hours watching James Hoffmann’s videos, which helped us better understand specialty coffee, proper extraction, and what makes a well-crafted cup.
We noticed they also offer pour-over coffee, and as manual brewing enthusiasts, that immediately caught our attention. But for this visit, we wanted to try something we hadn’t seen before: their Chocnut Latte. It’s not every day you come across a specialty coffee drink inspired by a classic Pinoy favorite. Kapag bumalik kami rito, siguradong ita-try na namin yung pour-over nila.
For this visit, we ordered their Chocnut Latte, Tibuok Cashew Cheesecake, and Matcha Latte. Here’s our honest take on each one and whether we think they’re worth ordering.

Lately, we’ve also started exploring the world of matcha. We wouldn’t call ourselves experts, but we’ve been enjoying the process of making matcha at home using the traditional preparation method and matcha powder sourced directly from Japan. The more we learn, the more we appreciate the difference that quality ingredients and proper preparation can make.
With those experiences in mind, we can honestly say that Middle Black Sheep Roasters is a true specialty coffee shop. From the coffee they serve to the quality of their matcha, it’s clear that they care about sourcing good ingredients and preparing every drink with intention.
Tibuok Cashew Cheesecake

“I know I’ve heard of Tibuok before.”
Tapos yung cream cheese nila, panalo.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10)
Chocnut Latte

Coffee with a twist of Pinoy nostalgia.
In my case, hinalo ko siya.

Rich, smooth, at well-balanced yung flavor.

One thing we didn’t expect was that Middle Black Sheep Roasters is also a bar. Aside from specialty coffee and desserts, they serve a selection of alcoholic drinks, making it a nice spot to visit whether you’re craving a good cup of coffee during the day or looking to unwind with a drink at night.
